Filipino-Chinese looking to find love in the Year of the Earth Pig may find some help from a new app.
The app Kaysiao, which refers to the Chinese tradition of matchmaking, connects singles online for a chance at love.
Co-founder Jules Ivan Lo said more people, especially millennials, are now becoming more open to creative and tech-driven ways of meeting potential partners.
He added that the so-called "Great Wall" phenomenon is slowly fading, with more Filipino-Chinese families becoming more open to being in a relationship with other nationalities.
According to Lo, majority of Kaysiao's 6,000 users are using free accounts, and the company generates revenues from organizing events.
