MANILA – Former Miss World titleholder Megan Young doesn’t see anything wrong with Catriona Gray’s decision to do a pageant cross-over from Miss World to Binibining Pilipinas.
"If there’s an opportunity for someone to shine, why not?” she told entertainment site PEP.
Young also shared how she thinks Gray, who won Miss World Philippines in 2016, will fare in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas competition.
“I think she has it in the bag, I’m rooting for her. Ayaw ko naman i-jinx. I know in my heart she’s going to place very well, and I think we all know what that is," she said.
The coronation night of the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 will be on March 18.
Meanwhile, Young is also optimistic that another Filipina will be able to win the Miss World crown. Young, who won Miss World in 2013, is the first-ever Filipina to win the title.
"Meron ‘yan, naniniwala talaga ako na meron ‘yan. Kasi, every year naman na may lumalaban, I always hope na sana ito na, sana ito na," she said.
