MANILA - Solo parents in Quezon City can now enjoy a 20 percent discount in restaurants.
The Quezon City government has mandated food establishments to give discount to registered solo parents every first and last Sunday of the month.
Discount applies if the bill will not exceed P2,000 for single or accumulated receipts made in the same establishment within the same day.
The ordinance is in accordance with Republic Act 8972 of Solo Parents Welfare Act of 2000 to help ease expenses of single parents.
To avail of the discount, parents should present their solo parent ID, which they can apply for at the city's social services department.
