MANILA – Model Marx Topacio plans to take his girlfriend, Maxine Medina, on a vacation after a well-fought journey at the 65th Miss Universe pageant on Monday.
Medina, who represented the Philippines in the international pageant, finished in the top six along with Thailand's Chalita Suansane and Kenya's Mary Esther Were.
France's Iris Mittenaere was crowned Miss Universe, while Haiti's Raquel Pelissier and Colombia's Andrea Tovar placed first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
“Ang layo ng narating niya. Sobrang proud ako dahil alam kong fighter talaga siya. Lahat gagawin niya para makuha ['yung crown]. Kahit hindi niya nakuha, proud pa din kami. At least tapos na, pahinga na. Lagi talaga kaming vacation niyan, lagi kaming on the go so at least magagawa na namin,” Topacio told ABS-CBN News.
Topacio said they have yet to plan on where they will spend their vacation now that the pageant is over.
Asked what he will do when he sees his girlfriend, Topacio said: “Yayakapin ko siya kasi alam ko kahit paano medyo nasaktan siya. Hinahangad niya 'yung crown. Sasabihin ko proud pa din kami kasi talagang ang galing niya pa rin.”
