PASAY CITY - Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on Saturday said she intends to sell the wardrobe she accumulated during her reign as Miss Universe 2016.
"After I step down as Miss Universe, I want to do an auction or a garage sale where I can hang and sell my dresses," Wurtzbach told ABS-CBN News.
The Filipina beauty queen said she already packed her things in the US and managed to send back to Manila at least "7 balikbayan boxes", mostly filled with clothes she wore to different functions and events.
"I'll put a tag on each dress so buyers will know where I wore that outfit to," she said.
Proceeds of the planned wardrobe sale will benefit indigents in Cagayan de Oro, Wurtzbach's hometown province.
"Since I didn't get to have a homecoming in my hometown, it will go to them," she said.
Miss Universe Organization chief Paula Shugart said Wurtzbach came up with the idea on her own, and the group will support her in the endeavor.
