MANILA – A London-based Filipino street food operator has bagged an investment worth £350,000 (around P24 million) in a British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) reality show on emerging food businesses.

BBQ Dreamz, founded by Filipino Lee Johnson and his Irish partner Sinead Campbell, secured the investment in BBC Two’s “My Million Pound Menu,” as reported by Evening Standard.

During the show, Johnson and Campbell impressed the judges with their signature lechon kawali and adobo glazed chicken wings.

Established in 2014, BBQ Dreamz serves dishes inspired by the Filipino recipes Johnson learned from his grandmother while growing up.

With the hefty investment, Johnson and Campbell hope to bring Filipino food to a wider audience in London.
