MANILA -- Comedienne and television host Melai Cantiveros has started investing in the food business.
On Tuesday, Cantiveros was launched as the first-ever endorser of Adobo Connection at SM North EDSA in Quezon City. She also revealed that she decided to franchise three outlets of the growing restaurant chain.
Cantiveros believes that because of its affordability and quality, owning her own Adobo Connection restaurants is a good investment for her and her growing family.
Like other celebrities who ventured into the food business, Cantiveros knows that show business is not forever and that she needs a solid fallback plan.
So bilang momshie kailangan mayroon kang fallback," Cantiveros explained.
Now that she's officially part of the business, Cantiveros' "iconic" photo will soon be displayed in all Adobo Connection branches.
"Melai embodies what a true Filipino mom is -- 'yung maalaga sa pamilya and may malasakit. Similar to our brand statement, we want our customers to feel at home and remember their mom's cooking every time they enter our store," said Meredith Ngo, Adobo Connection's managing director.
