MANILA – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Super Junior member Si Won Choi joined other celebrities in reaching out to those who have been affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

On Monday night, Wurtzbach and Choi reacted to the natural calamity in their respective social media accounts.

“We know this is the Earth’s way of blowing off steam, but I hope the situation eases out soon,” she said in an Instagram post. “Batangas has already been placed in a state of calamity.”

“Always stay tuned for updates… and please be wary of fake news! Here’s me hoping that the next news will be better. Stay safe, everyone!” the beauty queen added, as she directed her fans to the website of Philippine Red Cross for donations to ashfall-affected areas.

Siwon, for his part, took to Twitter to express his concern for the Philippines amid the Taal Volcano eruption.

“I hope no one is seriously hurt from the volcanic eruptions and the earthquakes,” the K-pop star said.

While the timing of the posts was purely coincidental, some fans saw the posts of Wurtzbach and Siwon as another reason to “ship” the two celebrities.

Wurtzbach has been vocal about her adoration for Siwon as early as 2009, before she entered the pageant scene and won Miss Universe.

In 2016, the beauty queen happily revealed that she is now friends with the Super Junior member.
