Last year’s Philippine Circuit Show. Handout

MANILA – The Philippine Circuit Show, dubbed as “the biggest dog show in Asia,” is back.

Organized by the Philippine Canine Club Inc., the Philippine Circuit Show 2019 kicked off last January 10 and will run until January 13 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Now on its eighth year, the event features some of the cutest, unique, and lovable dogs across the globe. Admission to the public is free.

This year, 568 entries have been registered, with the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Italy, China, and Thailand sending in the biggest delegations.

The dogs will compete in 12 shows during the event, where they will be judged according to their appearance and performance. Up for grabs are titles such as Philippine Champion, Southeast Asian Champion, Asia Pacific Champion, and FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale) Champion.

Last year, a Labrador retriever named Sunshadow Black Tie Affair a.k.a. Chicco was one of the most awarded Philippine-bred dogs.

Aside from watching the shows, visitors also get the chance to interact and take photos with the dogs and ask tips on how to breed and take care of these pets from owners and handlers.

Those who wish to bring their pets to the Araneta Center may secure a “pet pals pass” for free at the concierge of the Gateway Mall, Ali Mall, or Farmers Plaza.
