MANILA -- The holidays may be over, but comedy star Jo Koy is still very much in a giving mood as he gave those who were just looking for a laugh at a local bar in Quezon City a night to remember.
The Fil-Am stand up, whose skits are available on Netflix, did an impromptu set for unsuspecting regulars of Mow's in Matalino St., Quezon City, a photo uploaded by the owners of the bar showed.
The bar, which asked those lucky ones who were able to take videos of the surprise performance not to post them online out of respect, was having an open mic night.
The apparent welcome reception Jo Koy received would have surely perked up the comedian, still high over the fact that he sold out the Mall of Asia Arena.
He is set to perform there on January 15, after his scheduled sets at Solaire's The Theatre on Saturday and in Cebu on January 14.
Jo Koy is best known for his quips about growing up with his Filipino mother in the US, and is widely considered to be one of the top Asian stand-up comedians in the world.
Check out one of his skits below about cooking the "perfect rice," as taught to him by his mother.
Jo Koy's Philippine performance is part of his "Just Kidding" world tour.
