MANILA – Candidates for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant are starting to arrive in the Philippines.

The first one to land in the country is Carolyn Carter, who is representing the US Virgin Islands in the international beauty competition.

The 26-year-old beauty queen arrived on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and she is extremely elated to be back in the Philippines again.

“MABUHAY PILIPINAS! I'm SO happy to be reunited with the Philippines for the third time, it feels like I'm coming home. And may I say, I am quite thankful ALL of my luggage has arrived,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post upon her arrival.

In another post, Carter said she also appreciates how Filipinos “know how to make a girl feel loved and welcomed.”
