MANILA – Catriona Gray has known for months that she’s going to have her own wax figure at the popular Madame Tussauds museum and she is happy to finally tell the world about it.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Gray said she has yet to see the wax figure but she definitely had a hand in choosing the pose.

“Mayroon akong contribution but the interactive aspect is to do the lava walk with me. I am so excited for that,” she said.

When asked how it feels to be the second Filipina beauty queen to have a wax figure at the popular attraction, she said it’s both freaky and flattering at the same time.

“It’s kind of freaky in a way to think that there’s going to be a wax figure na mukha ko. But it’s very flattering especially that so many fans and supporters around the world can go and do the lava walk with me in Madame Tussauds. I am excited to launch that with them and I am very honored to be able to represent the Philippines in that level, too,” she said.

Gray’s wax figure will be wearing a replica of her iconic lava gown by Mak Tumang.

It will first be unveiled at an event in Manila. However, details have yet to be announced by Madame Tussauds.

After Manila, Gray’s wax figure will be in Madame Tussauds Singapore “for a limited time,” and will then make stops at the wax museum’s branches in Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Overall, Gray is the third Filipino personality to be handpicked by Madame Tussauds after Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.
