MANILA – The newly opened Cove Manila beach club made history during New Year’s Eve as it sold its first bottle of Armand de Brignac Midas, touted as the world’s most expensive champagne.

In an Instagram post, Cove Manila announced that the 30-liter bottle – priced at P7 million – was purchased “right as we were counting down to 2018.”

The post showed a video of the golden bottle carried by a group of partygoers.

Armand de Brignac is said to have hints of baked pastry and vanilla. Only 18 people are reportedly involved in its “meticulous” winemaking process.

Cove Manila, located inside Okada Manila hotel, opened its doors to the public last December 15.
