62-yr old PWD in Leyte braves 1.5-hour walk to vote

ABS-CBN News

Despite disability and discouragement from wife, 62-year old Amado Caneja insisted to exercise his right to vote.

He suffered stroke in 2010 and has been having difficulty walking ever since, so without any money to hail a pedicab, he and his wife had to brave walking at least one and a half hours to get to the polling precincts in Barangay Cogon Palo, Leyte.

A survivor of Typhoon “Yolanda,” Caneja, fighting tears, told ABS-CBN News the tragic experience has inspired him to vote, hoping to witness "change."
