Comelec mulls special polls in 5 areas
Five areas with some 12,000 to 15,000 voters may need to hold special elections, according to the Commission on Elections.
Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista said these areas failed to conduct elections on Monday due to incidents of poll-related violence and problems with ballot delivery.
Bautista said technical glitches affected 2,300 vote counting machines (VCMs) out of the total 92,509 units on Election Day.
A total of 169 VCMs needed to be replaced.
Some polling precincts also experienced power failure but this did not disrupt elections because ballot machines have back-up batteries.
