Marcos ally casts doubt on polls during Rody-Leni proclamation

The campaign manager of Senator Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on Monday cast doubts on the integrity of the elections as Congress proclaimed Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo as President-elect and Vice-President-elect, respectively.

In a privilege speech during the proclamation, Marcos' campaign manager, Abakada party-list Representative Jonathan Dela Cruz said the Commission on Elections (Comelec) should look into allegations of vote-buying and poll irregularities.

Dela Cruz also urged the Comelec to conduct a full audit of the automated election system, to ensure that a "cosmetic" change made by a Smartmatic official on election day did not affect the tally of votes, especially in the tight vice-presidential race.

The Marcos camp earlier said it is considering filing an election protest case to contest the hairline victory of Robredo.
