More Class ABC voters picked Duterte: exit poll


MANILA - Nearly half of the wealthier and more educated segment of the voting public voted for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, according to an exit poll conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS) after polling precincts closed on Monday.

The SWS exit poll has a sample size of 62,485 voters from 802 sampled voting centers.

According to the SWS exit poll, 45.9% of those coming from ABC socioeconomic class said they voted for Duterte while 18.9% said they voted for Mar Roxas.

Grace Poe got 16.4% from this socioeconomic segment, while Jejomar Binay and Miriam Defensor Santiago received 11.8% and 6.2%, respectively.

Meanwhile, 49.2% of voters who have college degrees said they voted for Duterte.

From the same segment of voters, Roxas got 19.8% while Poe received 13.4%. Binay and Santiago got 10% and 6.7%, respectively.

From those who were only able to reach high school, Duterte got 33.8% while Roxas received 25.7%. Poe got 22.1% and Binay received 16.1%. Santiago trailed at 1.5%.
