WATCH: Arroyo in neck brace casts vote in Pampanga

Former president and Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has cast her vote at a polling precinct in Lubao, Pampanga Monday morning.

Seen wearing a neck brace, reelectionist Arroyo voted in her hometown but must immediately return to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).

The high court voted to allow Arroyo to leave the VMMC at 8 a.m. of May 9, with proper escort, and to return immediately to VMMC after voting "without fanfare or caravan."

The Sandiganbayan Security and Sheriffs Services Office has been directed to coordinate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the purpose.

Arroyo has been on trial since 2012 for a plunder case over the alleged misuse of over P365 million in confidential Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) funds during her stint as president.

She has sought office for the second district of Lubao in 2013, and is seeking for a second term this year.
