#LabanLeni: Netizens hoping for a miracle for Robredo

ABS-CBN News

Liberal Party bet Leni Robredo has joined her online supporters in refusing to give up, as she slowly cuts Senator Bongbong Marcos' lead in the vice-presidential race.

"Hindi sa pinangungunahan natin ang ating mga institusyon, ngunit may sarili po tayong operation quick count at nakita natin na dakong huli tayo ang mananaig," a confident Robredo said in a statement issued in her Facebook page late Monday.

As of May 10, 12:19 AM (69.69 percent of registered voters), Robredo had 12,082,538 votes, inching closer to frontrunner Marcos who had 12,320,343.

"Malayo pa at hindi pa tapos ang opisyal na bilangan. Patuloy po tayong maghintay at magbantay," said Robredo.

Her online supporters are holding a vigil, pushing #LabanLeni to a Top Trending spot on social networking site Twitter.

Some were glued to computer screens and calculators, as they checked how much votes Robredo needs to catch up.

Some are willing to stay up late just to monitor developments.

Indeed, every vote counts.

Marcos' supporters are as thrilled.

Earlier, Marcos said he was also closely monitoring election results.

"I am feeling that by all indications we should be successful today. We will continue to monitor and closely watch the developments," the senator said Monday night.
