MANILA - Senator and presidential candidate Miriam Defensor Santiago may have declared that she is well and back to "normal," but many netizens took to Twitter to express their concern about the feisty senator.

One Twitter user said Santiago looked frail in the third and final leg of the PiliPinas Debates 2016 on Sunday, but he was quick to assert that her intellect was strong as ever.

This same sentiment was shared by another person.

Another Twitter user thinks that beneath the senator's frail exterior are better solutions to the country’s problems.

One Twitter user went on to say that he will just let Santiago's accomplishments speak for themselves.

Meanwhile, some were sorry to see their candidate feel somewhat uneasy onstage.

As early as October 2015, Santiago said she has survived cancer and is ready to run for the highest position in the land.

"I will run because I've already gotten over my bout of cancer and there's nothing left to do. I can apply for a job abroad like the one I lost because of my cancer, but I think since I have served the government from the very beginning, I will end my career here," Santiago said in a previous interview.
