MANILA - If elected president, Vice President Jejomar Binay will put Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in prison.
Binay on Thursday said Duterte has already admitted his involvement in the Davao Death Squad (DDS), which is allegedly responsible for the summary executions of over 1,000 criminals in the southern city.

"Kapag nanalo po ako bilang pangulo, ipakukulong ko ang Davao Death Squad, kasali na si Duterte, na ilang beses nang inamin na siya ang nangunguna," Binay said.
In May 2015, the tough-talking mayor admitted having links to the death squad. He, however, later backtracked on his statement, saying he was referring to a different DDS -- Davao Development System.
Reacting to Binay's statement, Duterte said he will just see the vice president in prison.
Duterte said he is certain that Binay will go to jail over the numerous graft cases that the vice president will supposedly face in connection with alleged corrupt practices when he was mayor of Makati City.
"Magkita na lang kami sa kulungan," Duterte told reporters.
Duterte, meanwhile, claimed he has confirmed that Binay was behind the disqualification cases filed against him.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) junked the four petitions to disqualify the Davao City mayor from the presidential race due to lack of merit.
The word war between the two presidential candidates started last week after Binay started attacking Duterte over the mayor's promise to rid the country of crime in only six to three months.
"Suntok sa buwan. Alam mo, yang problema sa katahimikan, peace and order, isang resulta yan ng kahirapan. Yung nagsabi ng 3 to 6 months, yung kanyang pamamaraan para makamit ang peace and order, ang extrajudicial killings," Binay said.
"Ito, siguro kaya sinasabing 3 to 6 months, may extrajudicial killings left and right. Pagka extrajudicial, mere suspicion lang, pinapatay ka na. Ang pinapatay dito ay ke minor, ke babae, ke whatever, ke matanda na, basta may suspicion. Patay ka nang patay," he added.

Duterte, for his part, dubbed Binay as "berdugo ng pera ng tao," even likening the corruption scandal of the former Makati City mayor to the corruption cases filed against the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
"Ang kalaban ko? Binay. Sabi [niya] ako madugo. Bakit ako tatakbo presidente para lang magpadugo-dugo? Ano ito, carinderia?" Duterte said.
"Ikaw [Binay], may kaso ka, corruption. Billion. Hindi lang ikaw, pati asawa mo, pati anak mo. Mabuti pa si Imelda o Ferdinand [Marcos]. Conjugal. Two. Dalawa lang. Eh ito basketball team eh. Eh di ubos." - Reports from Dynah Diestro, ABS-CBN News Northern Mindanao; Doris Bigornia, ABS-CBN News
