How Filipino-Americans voted in Halalan 2016


MANILA - The Special Board of Canvassers in the United Sates has finished counting all the votes cast in six cities by overseas Filipinos who took part in Halalan 2016.

These cities are Washington D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Honolulu.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte received the highest number of votes with 24,789 votes.

Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas came in second with 12,820 votes. Senator Grace Poe got 5,480 votes while Miriam Defensor Santiago received 4,339 votes.

Vice President Jejomar Binay trailed the pack with 1,423 votes.

Meanwhile, Liberal Party's Rep. Leni Robredo got the highest number of votes in the vice-presidential race with 18,407.

Robredo was followed by Senator Bongbong Marcos who received 14,193 votes. Alan Peter Cayetano was in fourth place with 11,980, followed by Senator Chiz Escudero with 3,181 votes.

Senators Antonio Trillanes and Gringo Honasan were trailing with 525 votes and 432 votes, respectively.
