HOLLYWOOD – One of the successful comedians in Hollywood has a Filipino connection that is very close to his heart.
Kevin James has been married to Filipina-American model-actress Steffiana Dela Cruz since 2004. The couple has four children.
"Oh, it's great. I don't have to pay for Manila envelope at all - is that where the envelopes are made, in Manila? The lumpia and the food and this and that from the family is just doing wonders for my figure and I love it!" he said.
James said he wants to meet his wife's relatives in the Philippines in the near future.
"I really wanna go, I can’t wait," he said.
The actor plays the leader of the United States in the movie "Pixels."
"If I was the president, I’m gonna start with a mea culpa out of the gate. I'm gonna be a little slow, but I’m gonna process things slow and will do it with the best of my abilities," he said.
Michelle Monaghan, known for romantic dramas like "Best of Me," enjoyed the chance to join James, Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, and Josh Gad in fighting an alien invasion in "Pixels."
"I'm gonna say one thing. She does a flip in a harness. They literally wanted to bring in a stunt double. And she did this crazy move - she was a gamer," said James.
Monaghan added, "it was fun. I kind of live for that, but I’m kind of a tomboy because I grew up with brothers so I really enjoy that. I like that action aspect."
'Pixels' will be in Philippine cinemas starting August 26, and will have its DVD/Blu-Ray release in the US later this year.
