MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) found an ally in television network giant, ABS-CBN in promoting the overseas absentee voting until May 2013.

The DFA said the agreement is in support of ABS-CBN's campaign "Bayan Mo, I-Patrol MO: Tayo Na!".

ABS-CBN Chairman and chief executive officer Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III and ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Senior Vice President Ma. Regina "Ging" Reyes, along with other ABS-CBN executives, graced the occasion.

The DFA Overseas Absentee Voting Secretariat hopes that the agreement will enhance OAV awareness through ABS-CBN's various channels here and abroad and encourage overseas Filipinos to participate in the electoral process.

ABS-CBN has also partnered with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), other institutions, media organizations, schools and universities for this common cause.
