HOLLYWOOD – Filipino comedian Chokoleit is known for his funny stand-up comedy acts and scene-stealing supporting roles. But the comedian harbors more serious aspirations as an actor.

Chokoleit treasures the laughs and applause he gets when performing on stage but he said he also loves being part of comedy projects that aim to enlighten the audience.

That's why he's proud of being part of "Echorsis".

"This is a very good horror-comedy film. Hindi siya basta-basta, talagang matutuwa ka. With the acting ensemble of Kean Cipriano, Alex Medina, John Lapus. Meron akong very pivotal role doon," he said.

The movie tells the story of a kind, closeted gay man played by Lapus who falls in love with a con man.

Chokoleit said he could relate with the story because he has experienced the heartbreak of trusting the wrong person with his heart.

He hopes that the movie will allow people to realize the repercussions of their actions.

"I think na kung ina-allow mo na mangyari sa yo, mangyayari’t-mangyayari din. Pero kumbaga, you reap what you sow. Kung nag-take advantage sa ‘yo, babalik din sa kanila ‘yon," he said.

The comedian said he dreams that one day, the Philippine movie and television industry will take its cue from Hollywood and create more multi-dimensional roles for LGBT talents.

"Syempre, I'd like to play more roles na ibang dimensions naman ng pagiging katulad namin. Gusto ko sanang may dadating na sitcom na talagang thinking comedy," he said.

"Echorsis" will be released in the Philippines on April 13.
