Catriona Gray from the Philippines was crowned Miss Universe on Monday, the fourth time the Southeast Asian country has won the international beauty pageant.

Gray, a 24-year-old Filipino-Australian model, was a crowd favorite going into the contest.

It was her beauty and radiance that bagged her the crown, the second Miss Universe crown of the Philippines in three years after Pia Wurtzbach in 2015 and following the footsteps of Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margie Moran in 1973.
