After their cordial meeting last week, President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo are now "exchanging notes" on leadership, even sharing stories about their respective children.
Speaking on ANC's "Talkback with Tina Palma" Monday night, Robredo described her moments with Duterte as "very cordial" and casual.
"Half of the time we were just exchanging notes. you know both of us came from the provinces, both of us were reluctant candidates. We really have many similarities. It was just a very casual conversation," Robredo said.
Robredo also said they had an informal meeting where they talked about their children and their lives in Manila.
"We talked about the children, we talked about life in Manila now. We talked about how it is with security people around us already," she said.
According to Robredo, Duterte invited her to regular meetings to talk about the country.
"Sabi niya nga, gawin kong mas regular 'yung aking pagbisita para alam ko naman 'yung kung anong nangyayari. Parang sinabi niya yata sa akin na mas mabuti na 'yung nalalaman niyang information about the country's situation, alam ko din. Kaya nagpasalamat ako," she said, adding that she has already left her contact number with Duterte's staff.
She also clarified that she did not meet Duterte to ask for work.
"Wala pa namang formal offer pero I told him nga na wala naman ako doon to ask for work eh. Nandoon ako para i-assure siya ng aking supporta. Sabi ko naman sa kanya, with or without a Cabinet post, makakaasa siya sa aking full support," Robredo said.
