MANILA -- The premiere telecast of "The Voice of the Philippines" dominated conversations on micro-blogging site Twitter Saturday, as the show's four superstar-coaches screened the first set of artists in the Blind Auditions.

The Philippine edition of the hit global franchise on Saturday night was met with hot anticipation by netizens tuning in to the show's pilot episode which aired on ABS-CBN Channel 2.
Followers of the program were quick to pledge their support for each of the coaches' respective teams, with the first names of Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, The Black Eyed Peas' apl.de.ap, rock icon Bamboo and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo making it to the top local trending topics on Twitter.
As most tweets about the pilot episode (see compilation below) were attached with "#TheVoiceofthePhilippines," the hashtag also zoomed up as a trending topic nationwide.
One of the favorite artists of the night, Thor Dulay, also figured in the list of trending topics after being the first to convince four chairs to turn with his rendition of the Whitney Houston hit "I Have Nothing."
Also on the popular micro-blogging platform, the official account of "The Voice of the Philippines" linked to fresh media from the first Blind Auditions on its website only minutes after the telecast.
On the official website, fans of the show can access extended interviews with the artists; a gallery of photos of the coaches, hosts, and episodes; video performances and biography of each artist; and a full recap of every episode aired.
