The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Monday released a video that showed the extent of damage sustained by several Surigao del Norte towns after the province was devastated by a 6.7 magnitude quake earlier this month.
The nearly 4-minute visual material was a collection of drone footage of ruptured terrains, cracked rice paddies, and landslides in the villages of Macopa, Honrado, and San Francisco.
Aerial shots of a damaged school building and the Anao-aon bridge in Poblacion village in the town of San Francisco were also shown in the video.
The Surigao tremor took at least 8 lives, and injured several others.
The Surigao airport had to be closed due to cracks in the runway, while some towns were left powerless for weeks.
