MANILA -- Seven years after her memorable role as Emilia Ardiente in 2017's hit ABS-CBN series "Wildflower," actress Aiko Melendez is back for the much-awaited project of Dreamscape Entertainment "Pamilya Sagrado."

Speaking to the press during the show's media conference on Saturday, Melendez revealed the reason that she agreed to the project.

"I think the project itself and the cast, we all know that sinabi naman kanina na ito ang project na talagang inupuan ni Sir Deo (Endrinal) kaya while doing this project talagang inaalay namin 'tong lahat kay Sir Deo," the actress said.

"And 'yung mga cast rin dito, nakatrabaho ko na rin ang karamihan sa kanila and I am excited akong maka-trabaho 'yung mga new ones," she added.

Without revealing any spoilers, Melendez teased what to expect from her character, stressing that she is portraying a role  totally different from Emilia Ardiente.  

"Mayroon ba tayong mga bali-baliwan dito? Meron, sinabunutan niya ako dito," Melendez said with her co-star Mylene Dizon. 

Aside from her role, the actress also gives credit to her ABS-CBN and Dreamscape family for always allowing her to share her talent as an actress.

"Thank you, thank you to ABS-CBN and Dreamscape for always having me in mind kapag mayroong mga proyekto na ganitong kalaki, talagang kino-consider nila ako I feel so blessed and flattered," she said. 

Directed by Lawrence Fajardo and Andoy Ranay, "Pamilya Sagrado" will air on weekdays, starting June 17, at 8:45 p.m., on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, Jeepney TV, and TV5.
