The much anticipated “Hello, Love, Again” drew an excited crowd eager to be among the first to watch the continuation of Joy and Ethan’s story at its midnight screening on November 13.

Lolit Mediavillo, 60, said she has seen “Hello, Love, Goodbye” over a dozen times. She was among the fans of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards who arrived as early as 10 p.m. to watch the premiere at SM North Edsa.

“Sabi ko hindi pwedeng walang sequel. It’s worth the wait dahil limang taon. After five years, natupad yung prayers ko na sana masundan,” Mediavillo said.

(I said there had to be a sequel. It was worth the wait—five years. After five years, my prayers were finally answered.)

As early as September, Michael Delos Angeles and his friends had bought matching shirts featuring the movie’s poster to wear for the premiere.

“Actually, noong ending pa lang ng 'Hello, Love, Goodbye', sabi ko sana magka-sequel. Noong nabalitaan namin na magkaka-sequel siya, sobrang saya, sobrang excited,” said Delos Angeles.

(Actually, even at the end of “Hello, Love, Goodbye”, I was hoping for a sequel. When we heard one was coming, we were so happy and excited.)

Chenna Dela Cruz, a long-time supporter of the Bernardo-Richards tandem, shared how “Hello, Love Again” brought back the nostalgia of the first movie.

“Grabe, di ako maka-move on talaga! Nakakakilig talaga sila! Yung 'Hello, Love, Goodbye', mga limang panood ko ‘yon tapos eto parang bukas gusto ko ulit manood.”

(I can’t move on! They’re so kilig-worthy! I watched “Hello, Love, Goodbye” at least five times, and now I feel like watching this one again tomorrow.)

For Chenna Dela Cruz, the sequel brought more than just kilig.

“Sa palabas ng “Hello, Love, Again”, parang mas mamahalin ko ang pamilya ko,” she added.

(After watching “Hello, Love Again”, I feel an even deeper love for my family.)

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the movie is now showing in about 500 cinemas nationwide.
