According to Mico del Rosario of Star Cinema, which produced the movie, "Pagpag" "breached the P100-million mark" on Monday night.
"happy new year! Happy birthday Direk @frascomortz ! At happy P100M #Pagpag !! movie breached the P100m last night! Congratulations team at maraming salamat po sa lahat ng tumangkilik! palabas na palabas pa rin po today and NOW in 130 cinemas nationwide!!," del Rosario said in an Instagram post.
On Twitter, Bernardo expressed her happiness over her film's success.
"What a great way to end my year. Congratulations team Pagpag. We did it! #HappyNewYear #blessed pic.twitter.com/uWHLpOV4VT," Bernardo wrote.
"Pagpag" is based on a popular Filipino superstitious belief that one should not go straight home after visiting a wake as this may attract evil spirits.
