Perhaps something to look forward to once the sad realization of the Christmas break being over sets in is the premiere of Jerrold Tarog's "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" on Netflix on January 26.
Significantly less bombastic and exciting as "Heneral Luna," this rather reflective sequel starring Paulo Avelino remains a must-watch for Filipinos given its timely message and gorgeous visuals.
It follows the events of the last five months of the life of Gregorio Del Pilar -- the country's youngest general -- until his death at the Battle of Tirad Pass.
It premiered in local cinemas last September.
It will be titled as "Goyo: The Boy General" for its international audiences, Netflix announced this Wednesday.
The movie is a sequel to the acclaimed "Heneral Luna," which is already available on the streaming platform.
Both are part of a planned trilogy featuring the country's real-life war heroes.
