MANILA – Kathryn Bernardo is one of the most popular young actresses of the current generation.
She started in showbiz at a very young age through “Going Bulilit” and went on to star in numerous television shows.
While many credit her rise to stardom to her role in “Mara Clara,” Bernardo acknowledged that one of her biggest breaks is a project that she did prior to doing the remake of the phenomenal series.
The 21-year-old actress is referring to the ABS-CBN series “Magkaribal,” where she portrayed the young Gretchen Barretto.
“Natakot pa ako tanggapin 'yung role kasi feeling ko iki-kiss talaga ako kasi ‘di ba binenta niya 'yung sarili niya para sa kapatid niya. Natakot ako kasi akala ko totoo siya gagawin lahat,” she recalled.
She, however, has her director to thank for assisting and guiding her throughout her scenes.
But more importantly, Bernardo said she would not be where she is today if not for her supportive fans.
Currently, Bernardo and Padilla are the lead stars of the ABS-CBN primetime series “La Luna Sangre.”
