MANILA - Teen stars Maris Racal and Manolo Pedrosa, both former housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother," are getting their big breaks as the lead stars of an upcoming film about a young couple whose relationship is influenced by a belief in horoscopes.
Racal and Pedrosa, both 17, will co-star in the romantic-comedy "Stars Versus Me," which is slated for release in 2015. Produced by Tandem Entertainment, the movie is under the direction of Joven Tan.
In the film's one-minute teaser released early this week, the characters of Racal and Pedrosa are seen consulting an astrology expert and going on a date in a park. A question then flashes onscreen: "Ano ang dapat sundin: [ang] sinasabi ng mga bituin o ang tinitibok ng damdamin?"
According to Racal in an earlier interview, her character's strict adherence to horoscopes, which she got from her mother (Matet de Leon), becomes detrimental to her relationships.
"Stars Versus Me" will mark the third major acting project for both Racal and Pedrosa, following their guest appearance in the primetime series "Hawak Kamay" and their respective solo stints in "Maalaala Mo Kaya."
