MANILA, Philippines (1st UPDATE) – ABS-CBN afternoon show “Pilipinas Win na Win (PWNW)” will have its last episode on Dec. 31, 2010, ABS-CBN Corporation announced Thursday.

“The ABS-CBN management thanks the Hitmakers, Valerie Concepcion, K Brosas, and Pokwang, the PWNW production group, and most important, its viewers for their support to the program,” said Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN Head of Corporate Communication.

The Hitmakers consist of singers Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuñiga and Marco Sison.

“Showtime” will occupy the slot to be vacated by PWNW, Osorio said.

“With its extended time, Showtime will continue to bring more… fun, and hope to Filipinos worldwide,” he added.

PWNW has been plagued by hosts and timeslot changes and low ratings since replacing its top-rating predecessor, "Wowowee."

When it made its grand debut on July 31, the original hosts were composed of Kris Aquino, Robin Padilla and former “Wowowee” mainstay female hosts Pokwang, Concepcion and Mariel Rodriguez.

Shortly after the launching, Padilla and Rodriguez left the TV program after getting married in India.

Kris, President Benigno Aquino III's youngest sister, meantime, was asked by ABS-CBN management to leave the show just 2 months after it went on-air. She was replaced by the Hitmakers.
