MANILA - The pair of Dang del Rosario and Joniver Robles sang an amazing, soulful rendition of the classic ''Lean on Me'' for the Battle Rounds of ''The Voice of the Philippines'' on an episode aired Saturday.
The performance was praised by all four coaches -- Lea Salonga, Bamboo Mañalac, Sarah Geronimo, and apl.de.ap -- and was singled out for the effortless way the two covered the Bill Withers' hit.
"This is the first I've heard it this way tonight," said Mañalac, who mentored the pair.
The rockstar, however, opted to choose Robles. The 36-year-old is the 8th member of Kamp Kawayan to move on to the Knockout Rounds of the singing competition.
