MANILA - Carol Leus, a 24-year-old who grew up in Abu Dhabi, is moving on to the next round of "The Voice of the Philippines" after defeating college student Rizza Cabrera during the Battle Rounds of the singing competition.
On Saturday's episode, the pair sang Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait."
According to their coach Sarah Geronimo, the performance from both singers was commendable, but she said she chose the one who has more room for improvement.
"Pipiliin ko 'yung gusto kong i-push at alam kong mayroon pa siyang maibibigay, at mapagtutulungan namin ito kung ano man ang lacking sa kanya," she said.
Leus is the 8th member of Team Sarah to move on to the Knockout Rounds of the local version of hit singing competition.
