MANILA - From bandmates to soulmates.
Lougee Basabas, the former vocalist of local band Mojofly, tied the knot with drummer Ali Alejandro, the son of local music icon Hajji Alejandro, during a wedding ceremony held at Balesin Island Club last Sunday.
Basabas, who auditioned for the second season of "The Voice Philippines," shared photos of the occasion on her Instagram account. For his part, Alejandro uploaded their wedding video on Facebook.
"Same time 10 years ago, I may have been looking up at the sky praying for my soulmate," Basabas told Alejandro in her wedding vows. "I will always be your best friend, your music partner, your road map to wonderful adventures and to the fulfillment of our dreams and our passions."
She added: "When I'm troubled, I will simply look at you because when I see you I see God's faithfulness. When I look at you, all the emptiness fades away. And when I see you, I know that I am home and I'm right where I belong. I love you."
In an earlier interview with the Philippine Star, Basabas and Alejandro revealed plans to release an independently produced album inspired by their love story.
"The music in this album is really how our friendship became something more --that's the story behind the album," Alejandro shared.
