The 28-year-old actress never won a weekly competition of the celebrity impersonation show and, according to her, her son wept each time she lost.

"I never won. Every week umiiyak 'yong anak ko kasi hindi ako nananalo," she said.

A completely overwhelmed Laurel said she did not expect to be declared the grand winner. According to her, her happiness was doubled because her son was able to attend the finale and see her receive the trophy.

"I don't know what's happening. I'm just happy that he's [Alejandro] here right now. I didn't expect it at all," she said.

Laurel said her Christmas will surely be "more than complete" because of this victory. She also said that being a part of the top 5 finalists was already enough for her.

"Feeling ko talaga nanalo na ako. And then I got to do Beyonce. And I already felt like, for me, that's more than I could ever ask for," she added.

Apart from her son, Laurel's family and fiance, basketball player Sol Mercado, were also present to show their support to the actress.
