Piolo still single because of son Inigo?

MANILA – Inigo Pascual finally broke his silence amid rumors that he is the reason why his father, actor Piolo Pascual, is still single up to this day.

In an interview with “The Buzz” which was aired on Sunday, Inigo did not directly answer the speculations but admitted that he is indeed trying to maximize their time together.

“I didn’t really get to spend much time with him growing up and I want to be able to maximize our time together. Kapag nakita mo siyang with someone, you’re going to feel jealous pero normal naman po 'yun as a son,” he said.

When asked if he would approve in case his father dates a younger girl, Inigo said: “I’m 17 and if he gets a girlfriend who is 20, I’m not going to feel comfortable. I wouldn’t want a stepmom to be 20.”

In a previous interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Inigo said he prefers his father to date a non-showbiz girl.

“I want him to be happy with someone not from showbiz,” he said. “Someone who will help him lead a private life [because] he deserves that.”

Piolo has been romantically linked to Shaina Magdayao for a while now. His last public relationship was with KC Concepcion, which ended in 2011.
