MANILA – Veteran actress and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos dreams of some day making a movie where she will be the director and not the lead actress.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of the Batangas Foundation Day, Santos admitted that she misses being in showbiz every day of her life, as she stressed that her main priority right now is to serve her constituents.
“Nami-miss ko talaga. It’s just hindi lang po puwede talaga na mag-full time,” she said.
“Ang nangyayari na lang, kapag mayroong magandang script na talagang gusto kong gawin and then at the same time libre naman ako sa Batangas at maayos lahat, then magagawa ko. Pero kapag hindi, hindi siguro. Mahirap,” she added.
Now on her last term as a governor, the actress-politician said she will make sure to make a showbiz comeback once she frees her schedule.
“Talagang gusto ko mag-direct. Gusto ko mag-direct ng pelikula. Looking forward ako doon. Given the chance sa darating na eleksyon at hindi ako tatakbo, I will make sure that I will do one movie as a director. 'Yun ang dream ko,” she said.
Santos said she would probably begin with an independent film.
“Gusto ko 'yung raw, bago and 'yung creation ng utak ko para alam ko kung anong gagawin. Pwedeng mag-umpisa sa indie,” she said.
Meanwhile, Santos reiterated that she is not planning to run for higher office when her term as a governor expires.
“No plans. Concentrate lang muna ako sa Batangas. Wala talaga. Hindi ako nagpaplano talaga. With all honesty, kahit kami ni Ralph, hindi namin pinag-uusapan,” she said.
