MANILA—Most would argue that one should never be friends with their exes.

But it appears one of the contestants of Saturday's "Your Moment" ignored that advice altogether, and even decided to keep singing with her former boyfriend as part of their musical duo.

Meet Keren Lazaro and Mark Takeuchi, childhood best friends who fell in love but are now exes. They still sing together, though, and they performed on the newest episode of the talent show.

They captured the hearts of the judges with their acoustic cover of "In the Arms of an Angel."

According to Lazaro, she and Takeuchi are an "exception" to the view regarding exes being friends. She explained that they broke up because she fell out of love.

In their introduction video, Takeuchi shared that he continues to perform with Lazaro because he wants to see her succeed.

Regarding their cover, the judges were full of praise, with TV host Boy Abunda commending Takeuchi for allowing Lazaro, whom co-judge Nadine Lustre said had an angelic voice, to shine.

"Mark, I know you did your part pero hindi masyado . . . You allowed her her moment and by doing so, ang ganda ninyong tingnan," Abunda told them.

They eventually got a higher score than the two other performers they went against, getting 89.44 percent.

This meant that they will be moving on to the next round, along with the three other acts that won their respective battles.

These were First Five Band, belly dancing group Angel Fire, and French dance duo Geometrie Variable.
