MANILA – Members of Kamikazee are overwhelmed and humbled by how their fans reacted when they announced last October that the OPM band will be holding one final show before the year ends.
According to a spokesman of promotion and production company Spicy Lemon, over 1,000 tickets were sold within minutes after they went on sale, while the standing section and several seated areas have already been sold out.
“It’s been a long 15 years and we have played thousands of shows but the ultimate for us would be to play to a full house of our own fans in one of the most historic venues in the Philippines,” Kamikazee lead singer Jay Contreras said in a statement.
"Huling Sayaw Kamikazee: The Final Concert" will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on December 10.
“Kamikazee is not just me, Jomal, Led, Bordes and Puto. It’s us and all the fans together so it is important we celebrate the history of this band with the people who have watched us grow, followed us for years and who have helped get us to where we are today. We need to say thank you,” Contreras added.
After 15 years in the music scene, Kamikazee will step away from performing to concentrate on other interests and spend time with their families.
