MANILA - Actress-singer Vina Morales maintained that she is not on speaking terms with businessman Cedric Lee, her former partner who was allegedly involved in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro last January.
In an interview on the ANC show "Headstart" on Friday, Morales made it clear that she has not seen Lee, adding that they usually communicate through their respective lawyers.
Morales and Lee have a five-year-old daughter.
"I haven't seen him. I haven't talked to him. If we talk about our kid, it's lawyer to lawyer... Hindi ganoong maayos 'yung situation but, you know, things might change... But not to the extent na... Siyempre, to me it's really over," she said.
When asked to comment about Lee's alleged involvement in the mauling incident, Morales said: "Wala, wala akonog masabi. Mahirap mag-comment... Kapag mga ganyan, kinakabahan ako kasi siyempre... I really don't want to say bad things about him din naman because he's still the father of my child. Kung anuman 'yung nangyari between him and Vhong, ayaw kong makisali because hindi ako kasali sa sitwasyon."
Navarro accused Lee and his friends of mauling him last January after model Deniece Cornejo claimed that the actor tried to rape her.
Morales said she has not told her daughter about the issue between Lee and the "It's Showtime" host.
"As a mother, now is not the time. She's too young, she's five years old," she said.
"Bawal, ayaw kong ma-absorb niya yon," she added. "Malalaman niya din 'yon when she's old enough. Igoo-Google niya lang 'yung name ng dad niya, makikita niya na lahat 'yon. But not now."
In an interview in 2011, Morales said she and Lee had already broken up when she became pregnant with their only child. At the time, the actress said she continued having "good communication" with Lee, who she said visited their daughter "almost every day."
