MANILA – As early as now, Alex Gonzaga admitted that she feels pressured to live up to people’s expectations as she is set to do a project which originally starred veteran actress Maricel Soriano.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on the sidelines of the Kapamilya Thank You trade event on Tuesday, Gonzaga said she will be headlining the series “Inday Bote,” a TV adaptation of the 1980s comedy film.
Gonzaga said she would love to meet Soriano one day for she has been her fan.
Gusto ko talaga siya ma-meet if given a chance,” she said.
"Inday Bote," which began as a komiks novel by Pablo S. Gomez, tells the story of a tomboy and her younger brother Onyong who sell used bottles, one of which turned out to be magical.
Asked if she has already seen the original “Inday Bote,” the actress said: “Sinabi nila huwag ko na daw muna po panoorin kasi baka magaya ko daw yung acting. Kasi medyo may konting iniba sa kwento.”
Meanwhile, Gonzaga said she is looking forward to working with her two new leading men, Matteo Guidicelli and Kean Cipriano.
I like them, I like bonding with them. Friends ko talaga sina Matteo and Kean.
“Okay kami lahat. And of course yung story ng ‘Inday Bote’ is really just very light. Ang sarap niyang gawin,” she said.
Gonzaga’s last series with ABS-CBN was “Pure Love.” She also regularly appears on “The Voice of the Philippines” and “ASAP.”
