Some members of AKB48's Team 8 performed in front of a small but passionate group of Filipino fans at the ABS-CBN compound on Saturday, giving MNL48 hopefuls a glimpse of the fervent support die-hard idol fans have to offer.
The group, which included members such as Hitomi Honda, Ayaka Hidaritomo and Yuri Yokomichi, sang AKB48's most popular hit, "Koi Suru Fortune Cookie," and the infectiously catchy "Heavy Rotation."
They also sang a Team 8 single, titled "47 no Suteki na Machi e."
Each performance was greeted with loud chants from fans, who even brought out light sticks as they welcomed the girls to Manila.
The mini-concert was held just steps away from where the first day of the MNL48 grand auditions were being held.
