During a recent press conference held for his debut feature film titled "Bang Bang Alley", the Oktaves frontman told ABS-CBN News that his upcoming solo record is based on the concept and thusly titled, "Ely Sings Your Songs".

"Next year, mayroon kaming recording project na naisip. It's called 'Ely Sings Your Songs.' Tentative palang 'yung title, pero 'yun 'yung concept," said the Pupil frontman.

"Magkakaroon kami ng parang nationwide search for songwriters, professional and amateur. They can send their songs, and we'll choose among them, siguro mga 10 tracks, ipo-produce at ire-record ko," Buendia added.

Considered as among the icons of the local music industry, Buendia also expressed his approval of the more recent covers of Eraserheads hits.

Pointing to the recently released tribute record to the band that coincided with the premiere of Star Cinema's "The Reunion" in August, Buendia lauded the Star Records album's "creativity" and "respect to the original".
