MANILA -- Rocker Raimund Marasigan and rapper BLKD released a track dedicated to the University of the Philippines (UP) community and the UP Men's Basketball Team.
Titled "Atin 'To!," the track was released Tuesday in time for UP's do-or-die match against Adamson Soaring Falcons.
"Atin 'To" is produced and arranged by Rye Armamento. The title comes from Paul Desiderio's fearless forecast last year.
In an interview with MYX, Marasigan said the song was randomly made as he was hanging out with coach Bo Perasol.
Produced before UP's first Final 4 win this season, those behind "Atin 'To" said the track aims to celebrate more than just wins.
"It's really not about celebrating the achievement. It's more of celebrating the life of the community and how it's full of energy right now," Armamento said.
"Hindi lang students at admin ang nagse-celebrate ng UP victories kundi kahit IKOT and TOKI drivers, residents, etc. Sinadya man ni Desiderio o hindi, sinaklaw ng sinabi niya ang kabuuan at kaakuhan (identity) ng UP — hindi lang sila basketball team, hindi lang tayo university, isa tayong community (literal na may barangays sa loob ng UP!)," BLKD added.
