MANILA -- An 18-year-old girl from Davao City, who hopes to help her cancer-stricken friends, earned a spot on Team Sarah after her "flawless" performance during the Blind Auditions of "The Voice of the Philippines" aired Sunday.

Shaira Opsimar impressed her idol, Sarah Geronimo, with her vocal acrobatics on "Mama Knows Best."

"Naririnig talaga namin 'yung vocal acrobatics mo. Ang taas, taas, taas talaga ng mga nararatring mong mga nota," Lea Salonga said.

But for Geronimo, another quality that impressed her was Opsimar's confidence onstage.

"Nagusuthan kung paano ka gumalaw stage, parang wala kang kakabakaba," she said.

According to Opsimar, she wanted to win "The Voice" to help her cancer-stricken friends, saying that a very close cousin succumbed to the disease.
